Blackboxx replaces traditional consumer cakes |
The original purpose of Blackboxx technology was to reduce the labor costs of setting up professional fireworks shows. By freeing up time the Display Manager could invest more individuality in creating their own multishots, the freedom to choose colours, effects and shot numbers. With the impact of higher transport costs more professional companies are looking at replacing their traditional products with Blackboxx technology.
The main focus of the fireworks industry and the regulatory authorities has been safety and environmental protection. Attention is now being paid to what happens to the firework after it has been used. The disposal costs are high and recycling is dangerous and expensive. In some cases tubes still have unfired pyrotechnic elements left by product malfunction.
The idea of using the Blackboxx system for consumer products has also had a lot of interest in the last few years. In this case a Blackboxx system could be used by the customer in the same way as they have always used fireworks. Only this time they get to take the casing back to be cleaned and reloaded at a suitably licensed site. The green credentials of Blackboxx make a compelling argument for the replacement of traditional firework making technologies. |

Fireworks shipping from China |
During 2008 there were a number of accidents in Chinese ports involving fireworks. The closure of some ports to fireworks, the restriction of types allowed to be shipped from others has put a lot of strain on the industry - both in China and in the rest of the world. To compensate for the reduction in shipping capacity Blackboxx is leading the way with its 'effects only' shipping. All Blackboxx casings are made in Germany so only the effects made under strict QC in China are shipped. Traditionally, five containers worth of multishots would be shipped. Now, with Blackboxx, we can reduce this to one container carrying the equivalent firework effect. The shipping costs saved more than make up for any additional costs in re-loading Blackboxx.
In addition there is nothing to pay for disposal of spent fireworks (currently over 80% of a traditional fireworks weight is cardboard and clay and must be disposed of). This alone makes your choice to choose re-useable Blackboxx technology essential. |
